The MT4 platform delivers a wealth of information in a simple layout, live market prices, charts of the FX pairs you are following, custom indicators and the terminal window allows for easy account management as well as being a portal to the marketplace, code base and expert advisors.
Multiple charts can be viewed at any one time, change one by dragging a new market to an existing chart, the layout can be customised, reset or one chart maximised for detailed analysis. Use the top menu to change chart format, time frame or to overlay popular technical analysis tools, such as Fibonacci retracement.
To trade directly from the chart click the arrow icon at the top to reveal the trade panel or alternatively double click on the market symbol or the price in the market watch window to load the order panel. Loading the order panel through the market watch window allows you to place pending orders as well as deal at the live market price. To attach an EA to a chart simply save your chosen EA to the Expert Advisors menu in the navigator and apply it to the market by right clicking and dragging it to the chart. The confirmation menu allows you to double check settings and tell the program whether to just issue alerts or to trade, to mirror and EA’s performance more closely ensure that the ‘Allow live trading’ box is checked, a smiley face indicates an EA is fully live.
